Ingredients
- gram (chickpea) flour 200g
- plain flour 25g
- fine salt 1 tsp
- ground cumin 1 tsp
- ground coriander 1 tsp
- chilli powder ¼ tsp
- garam masala ½ tbsp
- IPA beer 200ml
- garlic 1 clove, crushed
- ginger finely grated to make 1 tbsp
- floury potatoes (such as Maris Piper) 2 (about 250g), peeled and cut into ½cm dice
- onion 1 large, sliced
- baking powder ¼ tsp
- lemon ½, juiced
- vegetable oil for deep-frying
